[The Six Conditions of the Testimony that Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah]
Shaykh Al-‘Allāmah Zayd Ibn Muhammad Al-Madkhalī (رحمه الله) stated:
The scholars, after analysis and investigation of the texts (the Qur’ān and Sunnah), have mentioned six conditions for the testimony: “That Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”
1. The first condition: Acknowledging his messengership and believing in it inwardly with the heart.
2. The second condition: Uttering it (the testimony that he is the Messenger of Allāh) and acknowledging it with the tongue.
3. The third condition: Following his guidance by acting upon what he brought in terms of commands, prohibitions, and what he made permissible and impermissible.
4. The fourth condition: Affirming the truthfulness of everything he informed regarding the affairs of the unseen whether that be in the past or the future.
5. The fifth condition: Loving him more than one’s own self, one’s wealth, one’s children, one’s parents, and more than all of mankind.
6. The sixth condition: Giving preference to his sayings over the sayings of anyone else and acting upon his Sunnah.

قال العلامة الشيخ زيد بن محمد المدخلي رحمه الله تعالى:ـ
وقد ذكر العلماء بالتتبع والاستقراء لشهادة 《أن محمدًا رسول الله》 ستة شروط:ـ
الشرط الأول: الاعتراف برسالته واعتقادها باطنا بالقلب
الشرط الثاني: النطق بذلك والاعتراف به باللسان
الشرط الثالث: المتابعة له في العمل بما جاء به أمرًا ونهيًا وتحليلاً وتحرياً
الشرط الرابع: تصديقه في كل ما أخبر به من الغيوب الماضية والمستقبلة
الشرط الخامس: محبته أشد من محبة النفس والمال والولد والوالد والناس أجمعين
الشرط السادس: تقديم قوله على قول كل أحد والعمل بسنته
