Do not abuse, revile or speak ill of my Companions

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

“Do not abuse (revile or speak ill of) my companions, do not abuse (revile or speak ill of) my companions.

By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if any of you were to spend in charity the like of Mount Uhud in gold, it would not equal a mudd (two handfuls) nor half of a mudd of any of them (i.e., the Companions, may Allāh be pleased with all of them).”

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّمِيمِيُّ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : أَخْبَرَنَا، وَقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: ـ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” لَا تَسُبُّوا أَصْحَابِي، لَا تَسُبُّوا أَصْحَابِي، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ أَنْفَقَ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا، مَا أَدْرَكَ مُدَّ أَحَدِهِمْ وَلَا نَصِيفَهُ”. ـ
