Something Better than Jihād

Yaḥyā Ibn Abī Kathīr narrated from al-Azdī, who said: I asked Ibn ‘Abbās about Jihād.

He (Ibn ‘Abbās – may Allah be pleased with him and his father) replied:

“Shall I not direct you to something better than Jihād?”

I said: “Yes, indeed.”

He (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said:

“That you build a Mosque and teach in it the Laws of Inheritance (Fara’idh), the Sunnah, and Jurisprudence of the Religion.”
